LEST I PERISH! poster is a rare First Liberty Loan poster. The First Liberty Loan campaign was oversubscribed with the total subscriptions exceeding $5 billion. It was considered an act of patriotic duty during WW I to purchase Liberty Bonds.
Very few posters were issued in promotion of the Loan. Consequently this is a very difficult poster to find in rounding out a collection of Liberty Loan posters.
